Could anyone tell me whether it is worth subscribing to this particular site. It does look very good but I am unsure. Many thanks, Sandra

It is a matter of personal neds I think. Personally I think it is the biggest rip off! It seems to only give limited stuff for your subscription and you have to sub for the rest ... which is usually the bit you want! It is a great site for USA research. There has been quite a bit about it lately on another list and most who are searching for English rellies whish they hadn't parted up with the cash!! JMHO Sonja

Thanks very much Sonja, I will take on board what you have said. Can't afford to part with cash if no results at end of day. I think I will leave it alone. Sandra

Sandra There is no need to subscribe to Genealogy(.)com to get information from the site. This was the very first place I started my research 2 years ago, and found the genforum section. On the Home Page click on Community and then Message Boards in the drop down window. Choose your surname interest and take it from there. I've found several distant cousins (or they've found me) - and recently emailed someone who turned out to be my husband's second cousin. She had posted her message 3 years ago and it was still available to view. Sue
