Have a relative who was first a private in the Plymouth Marines and then a Corporal c.1820. Can anyone tell me where I might find records for Plymouth Marines. |

Hi Gerald, My Great grandfather was also based in Plymouth with the RMLI. I sent an email to the modern day RM, and they suggested either The Public Record Office Ruskin Avenue Kew Richmond Surrey TW9 4DU Telephone: 020 8187 63444 Fax: 020 8187 88905 Website:www(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk or Royal Marines museum historical records department Website:www(.)royalmarinesmuseum(.)co(.)uk/. I haven't yet had chance to follow up this lead, as I only received it my self a few days ago. Hope the info may help you. Merry Christmas Pauline |
