There are separate books at the FRC for service BMD - I have no idea if these include deaths in the UK or just overseas. Check the website at www(.)familyrecords(.)gov(.)uk - no brackets though! Maz. XX

In a lot of cases, BMD's for serving personnel were registered slightly differently. I have noticed over here in Northern Ireland, that the indexes had different appendices for registrations such as deaths at sea, etc I have also seen registrations added as an appendix under "The Army Act", and in some cases they were up to 2 years after the event. So you may have to look further on to find any reference to what you are looking for. Paul

I have been told that my great-grandfather died whilst he was in the army in a training accident, (he died in this country on his base). I can't find his death certificate (I have been using 1837 online to look it up). Does anyone know if army deaths were registered differently from civillians? I don't know the exact date of his death, except that my grandfather was about 4 years old at the time, so I have searched from 1913 to 1923 with no luck. Anyone got any suggestions?
