Hi Sue As you're in Sussex, I'm assuming your 'twins' were born in Sussex too? I've had a look on the VRI and have found an Elizabeth and, I think, a couple of siblings - but no mention of a Mary Ann... NAPP, James Thomas Christening Gender: Male Christening Date: 8 Oct 1865 Recorded in: Rotherfield, Sussex, England Father: James NAPP Mother: Elizabeth Source: FHL Film 1067280 Dates: 1813 - 1881 NAPP, Elizabeth Christening Gender: Female Christening Date: 20 Jun 1867 Recorded in: Rotherfield, Sussex, England Father: James NAPP Mother: Elizabeth Source: FHL Film 1067280 Dates: 1813 - 1881 NAPP, William Christening Gender: Male Birth Date: 29 Aug 1876 Christening Date: 9 Nov 1879 Recorded in: Rotherfield, Sussex, England Father: James NAPP Mother: Elizabeth Source: FHL Film 1067280 Dates: 1813 - 1881 NAPP, Joseph Christening Gender: Male Birth Date: 22 Jan 1879 Christening Date: 9 Nov 1879 Recorded in: Rotherfield, Sussex, England Father: James NAPP Mother: Elizabeth Source: FHL Film 1067280 Dates: 1813 - 1881 Hope this may be helpful to you. With best wishes, Linda

One of the twins could have died thus prompting the baptism of the other twin before it was too late. I think there is a good chance this is your Elizabeth. Bob

Sue You will have to send for both certificates, birth or death. Each child would have to have been registered separetely. Usually on a birth cert, twins have there time of birth noted as well. Margaret

I have an Elizabeth Napp baptised in June 1867 - she is missing from the 1881 census - OK she was 14 and could have been elsewhere but there's no sign of her. I have however found a death entry on FreeBMD for June Qtr.1867 an Elizabeth aged 0 yrs and also a Mary Ann Napp 0 yrs both in the correct Registration District. I've looked for the Mary Ann also and there is NOTHING! Do you think this is my Elizabeth and her twin - I know the LDS is not reliable but if one twin was baptised why not the other - surely they'd be done together?? Also will the Death Certificate give both children if they were twins or would I have to send for both? Any thoughts please ! Sue.
