Industrial Schools??

While searching census' for my rellies I have come across an Industrial School for Girls. Just out of interest, does anyone know what this was? It wasn't far from The House for Fallen Women and the Orphanage!! Kay |

I think there is another thread if you search this message board with info on. I think basically it was a school for paupers or orphans to keep them from thieving and keep them on the straight and narrow. there is a website about London ones by mary b wall the full address is on the website somewhere! KIM |
