Hello Judy Thanks for your help, but the birth certificate I have is the full version. The child was obviously illegitimate. It's not a problem I have with the birth - would like to know the fathers name, but realise this is impossible. Just want to link the birth with the marriage and death. Ann

Perhaps the birth certificate you received is what they call "the short form" which if that is what you received, parents names were omitted. Contact agency where you ordered certificate from and ask them for the "long form" which would include parents.

Hello Ken Thanks for your suggestion. The person died in hospital, but records are no longer held. May be worth trying to find out who her doctor was. Believe her children were born at home, but she may have been in hospital for another reason. Worth a try!!! Ann

Hi, The marriage cert that you have gives the name of the father - the father's name will also be in the school admission books. Gwynne

Thanks for your reply re school records. but I need to find the persons date of birth from records as an adult, to see whether the person who got married in 1925 and died in 1952 is the same person who was born in 1903. Regards Ann

I am trying to confirm whether a date of birth I have for someone relates to a particular person, as there were several people with the same name. The person I am trying to find was born in 1903. A woman of the same name and age was married in 1925, and died in 1952. There is no fathers name on the birth certificate, nor on the marriage cert. No clue from the address on the marriage cert, other than being in the same town, nor from names of witnesses. No obituary or death notices in the local paper, no will, no date of birth on burial records or gravestone. employment details not known, The womans children (3 still alive) can't remember their mothers date of birth. Any ideas where a persons date of birth may be recorded in any records at the time of, or after their marriage?
