am I the only one?? I'm trying to find the death details of an Edward Brandon b.1879 m.1900 to Alice Ing. I can't seem to find anything for him after 1901 census other than trawling through the 1837online. Also, I'm trying to find information on a John Brandon b.1815 m. 1836 to Esther Birch. Where do I get his birth/marriage certs from? Anyone with suggestions?

The 1815 and 1836 "certificates" you want don't exist as civil registration only started in 1837. The marriage evidence will be in the parish records of the church where they were married. There may be a baptism for the 1815 event in the parish registers but you will need a church or an area in order to search. The death you want to find will need to be a systematic search of the death indexes but you don't have to do this online. Try to find a local library/record office which has the indexes on fiche.

Hi Caroline Until 1837, all marriages were in the Church of England except for Quakers and Jews, so it will be Chesham Parish Church records you want. Stan
