hello Rosemary, thanks for offering to help! Unfortunately I don't think I was clear enough because I found Winifred on the 1901 aged 3 but can't find her birth at all. By the way, where exactly on the 1901 site does it show you how to download this decoder? I view households after I've found the individuals although I think this costs me extra.

Help! I have spent the best part of the afternoon looking for various Stowells on the 1901 census - very costly! The one who has defeated me is Winifred, who was supposed to be 3 in 1901 but I can't find her anywhere between 1897 and 1899 but I can find a Winifred Stove and a Winifred Stowe. Could 1837 have mistaken the spelling because all the others are Stowell? Thanks, Helen
