Hi Marion, Have you tried to find Rate Books. These may survive for your area from the mid 18th century onwards. The were written out every year and generally gave the occupants of the house and the amount of rent that they paid. Where they survive you should be able to locate them in the CRO or Local Reference Library. It is hard going searching them as most are not indexed but it is worth a try. I do not think there are any on the net. Mary

Marion, have you tried the Leicester Uni on line directory site (get the link via resource centre) which you can search for names and addresses? Pam

I have an ancestor who was living in Burford in Oxford between the years 1873 and 1874. Would anyone know if its possible to find an address such as an electoral role for these years? My other option is to search the school records for the children of the family. Does anyone frequent Oxford Record Centre and would know how to access these records? Marion
