Would like to add that I dithered for ages, worried that I would be out of my depth, as I don't understand half of what go's on with computers. However having taken the plunge some months ago, I found it much easier than I expected. The biggest problem I had was sending my file to the co-ordinator, but with his patience I eventually managed. Maybe the next hardest part is nothing to do with computers at all, but in reading the written word from well over 100 years ago!! I started with a checking syndicate, and now do transcribing also. Go for it, the more the merrier. Val |

I have volunteered for Scan 2 for a few years now. Whenever I get stuck I email my advisor (Sue) and have always had a very quick response. There is no quota for the amount you transcribe. Some months I don't do any scans at all. Teresa |

I transcribe, like some of the above, for Scan2 and find it really rewarding. If any of you have any problems, there are plenty of people willing to help, as we do not want to loose those helping with this task. The more transcribers they get, the quicker the task will get completed. If anyone wants help, just drop me an email and I will do all I can to assist. Nesta |

Ros, Don't frighten me before I start or that will be another resolution out the window but the why break the habit of a lifetime! The syndicate I looked at did say printed info though so perhaps it won't be to bad. Lynn. |

Anyone who has thought of volunteering (or has made this their New Year Resolution!) There is currently a list of syndicates asking for volunteers, have just e-mailed my own offer. Lynn |
