One of my relations has our family bible that goes back 4 generations, it has helped me out with my family tree considerably.

Hi I hope this ends up back in the right family, and making someone very happy. Last year i also reunited someone with their family bible , which belonged to my mother. I also posted messages under the correct surnames on Genealogy Forum and Rootsweb message boards. However since ive passed the bible on, i still receive emails about the bible. Which i thought would happen, so before i passed it on i took photos of the family tree in the bible. So i can send people who are interested an image of the tree. How i would love to be reunited with something as wonderful as an object which belonged to one of my relations. Sarah

Carol, I just wish it were mine. Apparently there was a family bible years ago, but its gone astray. Well done for the posting though, I hope it works! Allie

In tonights edition of my local paper (Manchester Evening News): "I have a family bible which was in a batch of books I bought. There are records of births, marriages and deaths written in this bible. If any descendants are interested in having it, I would be very glad to pass it on to them. The family name is Lord, and from 1820 to 1860 they lived in Bacup. In 1891, they were in Didsbury, but moved to London. Two other surnames in the bible are Sutcliffe and Greenwood". From Pauline Barnes, 01978 354801, email [email protected] It would be soooo nice if this family belonged to someone on GC, only wish it was me. Best wishes, Carol.
