My John rous is listed on the 1881 census as aged 49 born Westleton but is not on the 1841 census, i cant seem to find a birth for a John, and im now wondering whether he was a James as James is quite common in the Rous family. However, he is on his marriage cert named as a John Rous with a father called James who was listed as a carpenter. By my reckoning he should have been born about 1832. On the 1841 census there is a James rous aged 25 who was a carpenter with a James Rous aged 6 and other siblings and wife. do you think this junior james is my john?? Any ideas? would be grateful, thankyou. Rebecca. |
