Sounds like a good read Janice, someone on Amazon says "If you have enough to eat and a roof over your head this book will make you feel rich". Bob

Recommending a fascinating book by Maud Pember Reeves. "Round about a pound a week" gives a great insight into the lives of poor working class women. Although it's set in Lambeth, it could apply to many women of the time living in towns. I first found this book in my local library and was so taken with it I bought it. There is a paperback edition.
