Which Censuses are address searchable only?

To save me wasting anyones time when asking for lookups, can some kind person please tell me for which Censuses you have to have an address to find someone. Many thanks, Christel

Hi Christel I think the only census that you do not need an address for are 1881, 1901 which are searchable online and 1891 if anyone has access to ancestry. These can be searched by name but all the other census will need an address as these will have to be done at the library and are on fiche or film. If this is not correct someone will let you know. Local family history societies often will produce a name index for their county and these are not to expensive. Steve.
