Hi Can somebody help me work out a occupation. I receieved a marriage certificate a the brides occupation looks like wanper and the father of the brides occupation loks like small wane dealer. Am i reading this wrong cos i haven't a clue what this is or has anyone any ideas what it could be? Thanks gill

Could the bride occ be pauper? and the father's be wine dealer? or swine/dealer just guesssing difficult to know without seeing it . perhaps dancer OR WINDER.......KIM

Hi Gillian This might sound daft but was the Registry office you got the cert from near to you? If so could you ring them and ask if they could help decipher it ,mind you some are moe helpful than other's Ann

Hi Gill, Warper - 1) Set up the "warp" (thread) on looms 2) Moved boats by hauling on their "warps" (ropes) Small ware Maker - Made "small ware" - tapes, braids, ribbons etc. Yours could be a small ware dealer. Dave
