Hi, I had this problem - couldn't get the images to open with the dejavu viewer. I contacted the 1837 site administrator (and I'm afraid I was a little irrate with her!) and her advice was to make sure that your saved images have .djvu after the name (eg. Grandma.djvu). This way the reader recognises them. She also refunded me with £5 credit to try again! It might be an idea to get in touch with her, explain your problem and she might give you another chance to download the images again. Hope this has been of help Jayne

I have had to download the document express for djvu trial version. I can now view them in this. Just can't view them with the plug in. They really need to do something like on Scotlands people, where all images you have paid to view you can go back and view again and again. It is about time a England and Wales version of Scotlands people was put up, wouldn't you agree??????

Am sorry it appears I was wrong you only don't have to repay if you return during a session. have copied the info below from 1837... When presented with results that contain more than one image, you have the option of looking at any of those images using the "Go to page" function. Any image viewed will incur a charge of one unit. However, if you return to a page that you have already looked at during your session*, you will not be charged again. Using the Previous page & Next page buttons also allows you to navigate between images. To avoid confusion, it is not recommended that you open more than one image window at a time. *A session is defined as the time from when a user logs on to the service to the time when the user logs off or the connection to the service is interrupted have you thought of mailing them and seeing what they say Shelli

Did you click on the little floppy disc sign on the djvu page to save or did you just choose file and save as on the top toolbar of the web page? You have to save via the djvu page or you just get nothing... I know done the same thing myself , is very annoying, KIM

I don't get anything, nothing at all. It is annoying, cos there I things I want to recheck now and I refuse to repay to look at these pages. They should have something like on scotlandspeople were you can put all your viewed images in a timeline and review them whenever you like without having to repay. If anyone else has had a problem viewing these saved images, i would be grateful if they could help me resolve mine.

when I look at saved images I often seem to get what looks like a blank page, but then I find the magnification has been set to 400% (not by me) and I'm only seeing the top corner of the page

I used 1837 online yesterday and saved the images I viewed. Now when I try to open them today I just get a blank page. I clicked on the save within dju viewer so why are these not opening. I refuse to go and repay for images I have already paid for. Has anyone got any advice on how to open these.
