Shirley - my book says.. Lists of Freemasons and the Lodges to which they belonged are held by the General Sec. at the United Grand Lodge of England, Freemason's Hall, Great Queen Street London WC2. names of current members will not be disclosed. Apparently the 'Seditious Societies Act of 1799' required each Lodge to deposit a certificate every year with the Clerk of the Peace for the County, the Cert had to list the names and addresses of the freemasons of that lodge. Also says surviving records are held at CR offices. Sue.
