i have just found a rellie born in 1808 and the parish record for his birth states 2 names for his father. could this be because they were unsure of the father?? i'm confused!! any help would be much appreciated, thanks, Kathleen

Kathleen, I had this when I got someone to search some Danish church records for me but it was very clear. One was the husband and one was the father. Don't know if it is the same in your case. Christine

Think I would look further at PR and see if there are any more children's entries for that surname(s) in case the vicar or clerk has added another snippet of information.
