yes, I have a Hannah thats a pain too, I've got her birth and her christening, census entries up to 1901 but she's single then at the age of approx 30... am led to beleive from the family that she married and had two or three children, but I've yet to find a marriage (Hannah Keziah SMITH from Gawcott in Buckinghamshire if anyone fancies doing a lookup lol)

Lesley Thanks for that. Out of all the variations I have tried I missed the obvious - Johannah. Shame about the pension!!

Zoe LOL - I just love the idea of shy mumbling Hannahs. If my Hannahs' descendents are anything to go by mine were far from shy and they certainly didn't mumble Gerry

I eventually found my missing gx 5 grandmother Hannah getting married under the name Annie. A different missing Annie appeared on a census as Nancy. Perhaps they were shy and just mumbled when speaking to official men

I have two 3X great grandmothers (paternal and maternal)named Hannah b early 1800s but I cannot find a thing about them despite the help of a number of you. Checking other messages I note Hannahs seem to be problem generally. Why I ask?
