Have you tried looking on the IGI for the childs birth? I've had a couple of maiden names I couldn't read and found printed out nicely on the LDS site!!! Would never had got it from the handwriting though!!! but can see it now I know what I was looking for!!! Good Luck

Zoe, I tried to reply to your email yesterday but don't know if it got delivered or not - I had an email around 4am to say that it had been delayed. Anyway, I agree with what's been said before - the first letter could be either an S (as it looks a bit like the S in Street) or an L. Apart from that I haven't a clue I'm afraid ! Paul

Hi Zoe, I'm still seeing LEMMON as the surname. Had a look at the LDS site and there is a Martha Lemmon being born 7 Mar 1819 and christened 11 April 1819 at St Leonards, Shoreditch to Isaac and Martha.
