I am looking for the Stone family in Beaminster. I have Samuel Stone (1819), his (second?) wife Hannah (1840) and their sons, Samuel (1859) and Edwin James (1867) - who appears on the 1881 census as Edward. Can't get back any further than this at the moment.

Have you all tried the Dorset OPC (online Parish Council) site? Lots of goodies, lists to search on there. Ann Glos

Sam & Elizabeth, We are all researching Riggs. I had not realised there were so many in Dorset. Mine are William Riggs born c1820 possibly Morden Dorset, his son Henry Riggs born somewhere between 1854 and 1857 Dorset (place as yet unknown) So far I have sent for 4 birth certs for Henry, I now put a check point on so I only lose £3. Trouble is the last one actually had a father William but I am now 99%certain it is not the right one. The problem is that William remarried and his wife in later censuses is obviously Henry's step mother. Ann Glos

I'm looking for: Abbott Farwell Ferry Jeffery Kiddle Reader Wellspring Most of them in the west Dorset area, apart from wellspring, which is Dorchester and Kiddle which is Piddletrenthide.
