Mouse! Sorry, couldn't resist that! And by a spooky coincidence, my son, celebrating his 10th birthday today, has just called me into the garden where he had found a mouse! Minnie can be a name in its own right, but is also apparently a pet name for Wilhelmina (you can see why you might want to shorten that), or Minerva. But of course it could also be short for Minette, or any other name that begins Min+ or ends +mina. Helen |
