I've got quite a few Lydia's in my tree. I also have ancestors, both male and female who used their middle names -- so perhaps she may have used her middle name (or Lydia was her middle name)? |

I have on a death certificate of a Frank Guy Ellis in 1907 that his widow was Lydia Ellis, we were unaware that he was married until I got the death certificate. I have tried looking on Free BMD and on 1837 online but cannot find a marriage for them, is Lydia a nickname or a shortened version of something else? Anybody any ideas? Maggie |
