Just wondering if anyone has uncovered any links to any famous/infamous celebrities during their delve into their ancestory. The best I've got so far is a "Painter" though yet to discover if he was of the "artistic" or decorating type :-)

I have AgLabs, Surgeons, AgLabs, Paper Hangers, AgLabs, Gunsmiths, AgLabs, Mariners and one more....what was it now....oh yes AgLab!

The sculpter Henry Moore is my wife's cousin twice removed and he was born just over the road. I think it's a load of rubbish though, even if he is family. Bob

One of my great aunts married a chap called Michael Keegan (who had an actor brother - ?) they had two boys - one of whom had 3 children - one of whom was called KEVIN KEEGAN - don't think it's HIM though! Also have a gr grandfather who committed suicide - in 1898. Have a hairdresser/hatter who's father was a bricklayer Have a heap of gunsmiths (would be happy to contact other people with gunsmiths) Don't have ANY AgLabs (yet) as most of mine are Londoners - feel very left out - I'd like an AgLab or three! Hi, I've got a gr.gr.aunt (on my wife's side I hasten to add) who forged her aunt's will and did 2 years for it then I have a gr, grandma who was 1st lady mayor of Halifax and 2 dubious gr.gr.aunts who worked in a photographic studio!!! Bliss xx Dave

No my boring old relies were nearly all aglabs - think how green England must have been! Mad great uncles - one in Broadmoor, who I am researching - he must have done something bad to end up there*, and another who lost his mind after the 2nd WW, poor dear. A few rather bitchy stepmothers, but none you could call wicked. Apparently my gt grandfather Charles was a bellringer at Rendcomb church and there is a brass plaque with his name and those of other bellringers commemorating some famous bellringing - possibly to do with King Edward's coronation??? but I haven't checked this out yet. My Norfolk grandfather shook hands with Rider Haggard. See, all very tame. * He did - see my posting further on in this thread

I have recently made contact with a relative who has researched some of my family tree. According to him, I could be related to a viking called Garbold. The village of Garboldisham in Norfolk is named after him. Lucia

My side of the family are the flippin same AG LABS in Suffolk lol My grandfather broke the mould and became a Policeman . Hubby has an ancestor with his own marble statue in St Pauls Cathederal - Sir William Hoste ( Lord Nelson's fav Captain ) *sigh* and my family always thought Hubby came from the wrong side of the tracks LOL!!

A GG Uncle of mine was a famous actor of his day (1870's-1920's) He died in 1922 and has a mention in that year's Who's Who in the theatre. I have found photos of him on the internet!!

I'm descended from an artist, Miles Burkett Foster. Also a murderer--but it was an accidental murder, I'm told! And then there's the arsonist bigamist great grandfather....

This is not exactly family, but when he was at school in Nailsea, Somerset, my dad's best friend was Adj Cutler who later went on to form... wait for it... The Wurzels!!!! And he is the only famous person to come from Nailsea!!! (Adj, not my dad!!!) You'd think they would have a plaque or something!!!!

Ann, That's like my Peter Purves story! I have bored my family for years telling them how I met Peter Purves when he was filming Blue Peter at Beamish Open Air Museum. I was with a group of school friends, and we asked for his autograph--he said he was busy and would catch us later.... 26 years later and I'm still waiting! I remember that story whenever I see him on tv! Mike Read, however, was lovely--took a lot of time to chat to a bunch of us teens. Also, Steve Cram used to run against my school team in a regular race between his school and mine. We only won it when he finally left school!

Sally- I am shocked about Peter Purves, I'll never be able to think of him in the same light again. My childhood Blue Peter memories shattered!!!!
