Irene There is a very strict policy at Kew in that you have to ask first at the desk to use the camera and then sign a form as to its usage. This form you keep and produce each time you go to Kew and I understand that there is a special room where you photograph documents. I was taking a group around Kew when I took my camera, so as to help the group, but did not actually use it there but I can see the potential for my own use. But remember NO FLASH. Janet

Hello everyone Thank you for the tips on camera usage. I can see how important it would be to obtain the correct permission first and as I found out on a recent trip to Kew they are indeed very strict on all security issues so certainly wouldn't want to upset them ;) Certainly worth knowing the option is there though for items which cannot be copied. Diane Watched it but do't forget the second part is tonight(Saturday) at 7.30 Channel 4 Civil War and Cromwell. Third part is next Thursday. I thought it was very good as you are getting the social history and the story from the people's point of view as well as the Historical bit. Well done Channel 4. Janet
