On their childrens birth certs Henry is down as a Copper annealer. On the census he is working at the Royal Arsenal.

Looking for g-grandfather, Amos Coates, on the 1861 census. Born Sheffield 1837 I have him on the 1841, 1851, 1871, 1881, 1891, but he seems to have either been mistranscribed for the 1861 or he somehow dodged the enumerator. 1851 sees him, in York St. Andrew, aged 13 and described as nephew, with a family called Peace, they and him are described as mattress makers. He had a sister Jane, born 1839, and on the 1861 census for St. Olave, York, there is a Jane Coates - relation to head of family is shown as sister but there is no head of family shown, her occupation is shown as mattress maker. The Peace family are also in York in 1861 - still making mattresses in York St. Andrew. In 1871 Amos is living in Middlesbrough, a labourer married with a 2mth old son. 1881 and 1891 he is still in Middlesbrough and back to being a mattress maker. Sorry this is so long winded. Hope someone can put me out of my misery - I've even started looking through all of York's 1861 census in case his name got mistranscribed and that is a long long job. Grateful thanks for any help or suggestions where to look for him.

hi all! I am looking for my grandmother who was known as either Ceilia Florence farrant or Florence A Farrant (this is a recent discovery for me so sorry if it sounds a bit confused!). I have records of her marriage to my grandfather but I cannot find her birth records. I know that she died in 1950 at the age of 58 and her wedding was in the summer of 1928.

Hi, im looking for information on a PETER ANTHONY TAYLOR. He was born in Reading,Berks in, i believe 1942. His brother was FRANCIS MICHAEL TAYLOR, born 12/09/1938 and they lived in Norton Road,Reading. Their father was FRANCIS TAYLOR and mother IVY TAYLOR(nee DYE) Francis, i believe was from the Yorkshire area and had 2 brothers,VINCENT and ANTHONY and a sister possibly called CECILIA all who would have possibly been born in the late nineteenth centurybut not totally sure of this. Francis and ivy were mayor and mayoress of Reading in 1967/8 and lived in Norton road until their deaths in the early seventies. FRANCIS MICHAEL died in Hereford in 1979 aged 41. He had 2 sons CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL TAYLOR born 04/12/1963 and me, NICHOLAS ANTHONY TAYLOR born 04/11/1965. I believe Peter had 2 children but have no names. Christopher was killed in a motorcycle accident in Worcester in 1984 so i have no contact with any other members of the Taylor family. Any help would be gratefully received.
