Just used site and not only found G.Father who has been a real problem, but he's with Mum, Dad and Sister this is brilliant. I don't think its complete yet as can't find a G.Father who I know is in Marylebone because I have the CD. Small world Helen I went to school just around the corner from Bakers Street opposite Madame Tussauds. Keith

Sorry to be a complete drongo but what website is this, is it the 1837 on line, or ancestry.com. A

Alison it's 1837 online, Kas if you have an address I have 1861 Census for Marylebone I'll look it up for you, but I can't search surname. Keith

Just went to have a look and searched for a St Pancras family - not there :-(. Think it's a bit steep to charge 3 units per view though, and then another 3 units if you want the image as well. Think I might wait for Ancestry to come up with the goods. Pauline

Irene Report 15 Feb 2005 15:11

To save units when I get on the site -- do I just have to put a name in or an address as well, what about age. Irene

Blast! I didn't know this was coming on and I used my spare units offering look ups to people so they didn't get wasted! Lou

There might well be mistranscriptions still. I found (even though not paid to look at the image) my CHISWICK ancestors under the surname CHADWICK. Chloe

Lou In the past I have spoken to 1837online staff about losing units after a certain amount of time and they assured me that if I contacted them and asked for an extension they would accomodate. Haven't put them to the test yet but it might be worth knowing in the future. Kate :)

Grrrr! I'm so tempted, but I promised myself I wouldn't spend any money until May!!!!

Thanks for this Peter. If you mouse over where it says 'View' you can figure out the family groupings from the line number, sort of like the Census Decoder and not use credits. Crista

I am so excited! I have found my house on the 1861 census. Nell, remember all those coincidences we discovered in October? I used to work in Baker Street.......

Thanks for letting us know. Just found my 'ex' (or intra: between two stints) policeman g-great uncle. Also (more or less) confirmed that my LANCASTERS weren't in London for long on their way from Essex to Berkshire. Christine
