Last time I used a hoover it blew up!! Hubby does hoovering now - adopted male attitude make a mess of it and someone else will do it next time - good thing hubby cannot access this site?? Ann

Claire If they were overseas they wont appear on the UK census records but if you google Boar War there's some pretty good sites about the people who served Lou

Or depending on the age and gender of the rellie you can't find, the Boar War was taking place and lots of people's ancestors are missing from the census as they were overseas

1881 and 1891 are both complete on Ancestry so your rellie probably will have been mistranscribed. Sam

It may be spelling or misreading by transcriber, the only way I found my family on the 1881 was by going to the district list on Ancestry and searching the area, luckily for me it is a small town and I knew where they lived.

sorry - didn't make myself very clear! is the entire 1891 census available or have they still got to enter some? The reason i ask is i have a rellie on the 1871, then no sign of him in 1881 or 1891 and then back again in 1901. This happens for a few of my rellies Claire x

in thinking that the census's (not too sure what the plural is!) on Ancestry are not complete? i'm sorry if this has been asked before but i'm kinda new to all of this. c x
