Claire, join your local family history group! My friend runs it, she's lovely and lives in Somerford. Think she does the actual group in Congleton. I'll ask her if you're interested.

I think it is the correct entry in '81. There's a daughter for Thomas & Hannah: Sarah Ann 11 Henry is MACHIN Stepson In 1871 Thomas & Hannah are there - ages slightly out with Sarah Ann 1 & Henry as a SMITH but Stepson. I would say the relationship is correct but the surname isn't. This happens a lot.

He's there as MACHIN in 1881

Glen

Glen Report 17 Feb 2005 10:51

In 1891, look for him under Henry MADINE

~Little Ray of Sunshine~

~Little Ray of Sunshine~ Report 17 Feb 2005 10:40

Name Henry Machin appears on 1901 aged 39 Married to Elizabeth Machin (figured out that her maiden name is Hulme), has various kids but the only one that will appear on 1891 is named Mary Machin (was 11 in 1901) Living in Biddulph Moor in 1901 and born in Biddulph. I can't find either Henry or Elizabeth on any other census. If you can find any other info i will be forever in your debt! c x
