Has anyone renewed their Ancestry subscription lately? I am waiting for an email from Ancestry regarding my renewal which is due on the 28th but haven't had one yet. Under their Terms and Conditions it says they will contact me 15 days before! I have checked and my email address is up to date with them. Not sure yet if I will renew or cancel but can't find an email address to contact them other than the 'international cancel' one. Just wondered if anyone else had renewed lately and whether Ancestry contacted them or just directed debited their account. Kate :)

Kate Mine's actually due for renewal on Tuesday and they only sent me the email 2 days ago so not sure whether there's a problem with their system or whether they're just behind. Lou

Thanks Lou Are you going to renew? I've been a paid up member for a year now and I wasn't sure whether to renew or use the other (shush you know which) site with a similar name :) Kate x PS: Left my attidude problem on the other thread LOL

Hi Kate Definitely, I couldn't live without it now, especially now I'm finding my way round using the other bits on it like the surnames meanings database, the parish and probate, the Trade Directories..... Lou

Hi Kate Mine renewed a couple of weeks ago (can't afford it but can't live without it - just have to cut back on the Mars bars again I guess). I got an email about 10 days before it was due to renew, and then they debited my card in the usual way. No problems. Tina

Must admit, I've found it extremely useful over the last 12 months, especially when they started added 1871 and 1901 info. Not sure I can scrape together a years worth of subscription money right now though, maybe I'll change to a shorter term subscription. Kate :)

If you go into ancestry and click the Help tag it gives you a little box to send your query in.

I renewed my subscription last week and they did contact me about a week before that. I wouldn't be without Ancestry now and this years subscription was cheaper than last year, £58. 69p. At not much more than £1 a week it's a bargain!! Kath. x

I was just thinking that Kathleen. I thought I paid £70 something last year. Kate

Hi all If you add the VAT it comes to £70 Ann

Padkat Report 20 Feb 2005 00:01

Thanks Ann Hadn't occured to me that the VAT wasn't listed. Bit sneaky that. Just shows you need to read the small print. Kate :)

I only noticed after I had clicked the confirm button Trust me to be too quick to get on to the site for info Ann

I'm sure you'll enjoy it though Ann. I've definitely had my moneys worth over the last year. It's just that now I'm slowing down a little with the online stuff, having filled in most of the info that can be found online and need to start visiting local archives etc to get further back, so I'm not sure if I'll make the same use of it in the future. Having said that they are very good at updating the site regulary. Oh dear, I don't know. Decisions, Decisions...... Kate :)

Toes crossed too. (Shame 1837 aren't a bit further on with their 1861 rollout.) Kate :)

I just wonder if it would be possible to share a sub with someone - if you paid half each and used it with the same password?

Padkat

Padkat Report 20 Feb 2005 00:20

Heather I suppose that could work as long as you weren't both on at the same time. Kate
