marriage help please!!!

I have got one like that too. I have g grandfather with first wife and 2 sons on 1881 census, death cert for first wife but cant find a marriage for them. Not any help to you, but at least you are not the only one.

Well, of course, they could have got married abroad, or their marriage could be one of the ones that is reputedly missing from the GRO indexes but in the local register office's index. Kate.

They don't appear to be on the IGI either. I wonder if Barber gets changed to something else...can't think what though... Joan

HELP!! I am seeing names everywhere!! I have a problem. I have an ancestor,Samuel Barber born 1827 in Bedminster.According to the various census' his wife was a Caroline born 1832 also in Bedminster. This is where my problem arises. I can find no record in GRO indexes of this marriage.Could they really be unmarried and fibbing to all the census chaps or is there another reason.The family are too law abiding to really be co-habiting so where do I go from here? Any advice would be much appreciated, Sineadxxx
