Received another reply, though not from the person I wrote back to. I had included the original message and their original reply. Margaret MY MESSAGE Hi Alex, Just wanted to clarify - when you send notification of contact to a registered email address, you receive a reply if that message is returned as undeliverable. Correct? When that happens, could you not forward us a message with the same sort of thing: message forwarded to so-and-so's email address was returned as undeliverable. That way, we are not hanging around for a reply that is never going to appear. A quick mention of something I said before, is it possible to make a note of the date (month/year) that a relative's name is entered on the site? To my way of thinking, I would be more likely to hear back from someone entering data within the last 6 months or so, than someone who entered data over a year ago. Thanks for your help. Margaret THEIR MESSAGE Thank you for taking the time to write to us and for your interest in Genes Reunited. We are always pleased to receive suggestions for enhancing the site from our members. We are currently overwhelmed with some wonderful suggestions and whilst we do read through all of them, we are, unfortunately, unable to respond to each one in detail. Your comments have been noted and will be passed onto our development team to take into account for future site enhancements. Regards Estelle

Margaret Gawd, they seem to have missed the point! We all know you cannot FORCE someone to reply to an email. Why on earth cant they just put a date of last posting next to the members name, they seem to do this without any problem on other sites: 'Last visited site on 20/02/2003' for example, tells me not to expect a reply. And whose idea was it to do automated replies: 'This is not my relative' - drives me mad, how do you KNOW its not your relative? Marjorie

Hi Penny, and Margaret, Im having exactly the same problem at the moment.Having found new info about rellies i added it to my tree. Sent about 8 e mails - one reply ( they were very helpful but no link). Have noticed one link to a rellie but am now thoroughly sick of having to make the first move and wait months for a reply. Surely if people dont want to participate they should be removed after a certain length of time - wouldnt mind if this was an isolated occurance but its now a regular thing. How about some sort of petition ? Elaine x.

Penny, Have you looked in your spam folder, or deleted messages file for the emails from GR. Sometimes emails from sites like GR, go straight into spam folders and if you delete them without checking you may also delete the odd 'good' email. Kath. x
