Not weird at all! A lot of my local ancestors were baptised and married in the parish church not far from here and I'd been in the church on many occasions before I started doing the family tree so didn't realise the significance back then. I recently attended a wedding there and it was amazing to realise that they had possibly stood where I was standing and had sat in the same seats all those years ago. Have a wonderful day and take lots of photos (several of each shot in case any fail to come out!). Above all, savour the nostalgia cos it'll keep you buzzing for ages! Lou

Thanks Diane Think it will be lovely to stand in the church and know your ancestors were baptised, married & buried there but weird as well for wanting to do that! Debby

Have a great time, it's brilliant when that happens. I yearn to go 'travelling'. Haven't done much as of yet, but I will....

I have recently had contact with a relative of mine - 4th cousins! She has seen my gg grandfathers grave in the churchyard in Kendal! So tomorrow I might be going to Kendal for the day and I'm really excited! We'll be able to take photos of the church (inside & out) and the gravestone! Also, I've just printed off a map and all the roads are on there where they lived so I'm hoping some of them may still be there for another photo opportunity! Hubby even said he might allow me an hour in the Records Office LOL! Debby
