I am a paid member of Curious Fox, I have found it worthwhile and as essential to me as Genes. I not only found a person who lived next door to my grandmother but also others who have send me info on rellies going right back. Definitely value for money. Regards Christina

I joined about 2 months ago after using the free service. No contacts yet but think it will get better as more people join.

I find it very good because the people are looking at a specific village/parish. I made two good contacts from it. Terry

I signed up as a free member and havent had any response so far.,but it seems that none of my family who I,m looking for are looking for their relatives. I live in hope that I will get a response as this would jump over one of my brick walls. Shirley

I have been on Curious Fox for two years now with GREAT success. Do remember to 'post' information, make it clear who, where and when. Try to give a persons name, their parents, siblings, children. The more information the better. Somewhere, someone will see a name that they are researching. I have had 8 VERY good contacts....... researching the same families....resulting in finding lost relatives. Also I have been able to help others, with local knowledge, advice, even managed to get an 'out of print' book for someone. Remember the more postings that you do the better chance of someone contacting you..........I was given that advice ages ago and found it to be very true. But please keep your email address up to date !!!! So annoying when you find a contact and they have changed their email address !!!! Gill

I replied earlier saying I had been on the site and found someone else also researching the same name as myself. We have been in contact and it turns out we are third cousins. She has given me some information I didn't have. I am so glad I read this thread. Thanks so much Regards Jill

I have been on this site before, but after reading your message I thought I would take another look. I put in the name of my GGGrandmother who I found just a few days ago and there is someone on Curious Fox with her Sister. I have sent a message. I am so glad I read this message and decided to have another look. I will have to wait now for contact. Thanks Regards Jill

For £5 a year, it's worth trying. You can add your surname interests as well as village names. Sometimes, there are messages under the 'village' heading and when you read them, they can link to yours as they are living in the same place. I replied to a message two weeks ago, as a lady was looking for her family surname and I knew that it ran into my tree when my great grandfather remarried. I didn't have the same Christian name but the surname and village were the same. I received a reply to say that the man I had listed was her grandad's brother!! We live not far apart and met up at the Record Office and are now working together. £5....................a good investment.

I paid the £5 annual fee to become a full member, and to be able to contact others. I have had a few contacts via the site, one in particular was really useful as it was descendents of my great-grandma's siblings. Mandy :)

Just wondered how others found this site, both as free and paid members. Do you have to register to search? Has anybody found anyone? Any opinions or tips? Thanks
