The other surname could be her mothers or grandparents. Illigitimate children would sometimes have both parents surnames and some children just carried a family name down the line Deborah

I should say that its possible to use the Staffs reference as a link to a part-completed application form for the marriage cert (£7)... Or you could try to find the relevant records office for that church's registers and get a photocopy (<£1) of the relevant page (with their handwriting, which wouldn't be on the Office copies). One of the surnames is a maiden name and one is the surname from her first marriage. It is just possible that it's two different transcriptions of the same name - because, in handwriting, those names could look quite similar. Christine

The name of her parents will only be on the certificate. Without it, you will need to look on the 1881 census and hope she was living with them, and not a servant somewhere.
