Heather, Yes thats as far as i got on the 1901 census! Why do you think David is Thomas' brother can I ask? The only other members of Thomas' family I found were on the 1881 census: Peter (Head), Bridget (wife), Elizabeth, Annie, Patrick, Kate.

The children from Thomas & Louisa (Elborne) Devins 1901 census are Thomas, William, Louisa ....... then next would possible be Lillian Emily 1902 - but I need the 1911 then!!!

I'm hoping she is the daughter of Thomas & Louisa Devins, 1894 Southwark - that would be the definate link. oh but now you put alice/david devins in the southwark area, it could be them aswell! suppose i will have to wait for a birth cert then. thanks all for your help so far

Or that mum went home to her mum for her first confinement?

In 1901 this couple are living in Southwark, so they COULD be the parents: Alice Devins abt 1881 Hempstead, London, England Wife Southwark St George the Martyr London David Devins abt 1882 Battersea, London, England Head Southwark St George the Martyr London but Southwark reg districts does cover a wider area than the parish itself. Forinstance, it covers Newington, but there are no devins there, unless they are mistranscribed!! There's always the possibility someone moved house between the census and the birth too!! Good Luck Sarah

I have possibly found a connection on this site to my family tree! The only problem is we dont know whether the person in connection is the right person as we havent got a birth certificate, as we are so excited - we were wondering if anyone can find out the parents names of an Lillian Emily Devins, born 1902 Southwark - otherwise I shall just have to wait until the birth cert arrives. If anyone can help - it would be great!!!! fingers crossed for a match!
