Merry Monty/Crista , I am having trouble keeping up with you lot lol.. buy a picture does seem to to appearing, right,,, first......Church they were married in 'The Parish Church' Christchurch, also know I believe as the Priory Church.... (both wedding took place there, and by Banns) 2nd Crista, I think you might be getting very close to my family, with this George Erwood. .....as Merry Monty. has just said that the wife of the witness Caroline Erwood lived just up the road at Fairmile Christchurch, well low and behold lol. 1st marriage cerf gives address as 28 Fairmile Road Christchurch!!! I have already checked the 1901 census, and granny wasn't there, I think a mother and boy was living there, I can't really remember.......2nd wedding address given as The Barracks for granddad, but...again....looks like Arrow Row G)Went Christchurch....nightmare. but have noticed on first child b cerf address of St Clements Cottages Avon Road Christchurch. although this is 1904....I know the family moved to Woolwich barracks roundabout 1905, but the children were still born in Christchurch, I guess granny when to Christchurch for the birth!!!!!! there does seem to be some sort of connection with this George Erwood, think I will have to dig around with this guy.....hmmmmI think I have covered all your questions......lol..but I will doubt check....Lilly

Merry Report 8 Sep 2005 10:24

Hound - the birth place on the 1901 census record, is in South Stoneham district, so I'm fairly certain the birth reg I quoted before (1870 Q4) is THE ONE! Merry

Following on from Crista - Caroline Erwood, wife of witness, lived just up the road from me in 1901, at Fairmile, Christchurch! Suspect her hubby was also in the Army, as he's not at home. Merry
