I agree - nothing wrong with being brought forward for a good reason. Abbess - I wouldn't dream of it........ but it's just nice to know they are still here! :-) Joy

Lorraine - if you put in anything, be it a full stop or the word nudge it is not annomous. Nobody minds things being resurrected for a reason.

Phoenix Report 17 Oct 2005 23:17

Don't you dare, Joy! :-) It's bad enough having solid wadges of about 8 tips threads all being nudged together and crowding new requests off page 1. Moderation in all things.

Good thought, Marjorie. :-) Joy PS can't find the original, but there are some others......... :-)

I cannot see what harm leaving a nudge with ANYthing on it does really, Have we yet decided what the capasity for 'number of replies on a thread' is before it spontaniously combusts......? LoL Jess x

An Olde Crone Report 17 Oct 2005 22:54

Must admit I was a bit surprised to see the Beaver Blower thread yesterday, but I think it was in response to something on the General Board - someone obviously went trawling for it and found the WRONG one! I didnt actually delete the original thread, just assumed that it had committed suicide by throwing itself off page 15! And I totally agree with Jess - there is a world of difference between reviving a thread which contains useful info, and one which is ASKING for look-ups. Perhaps if we all remember, when nudging old threads, to put something like 'Nudged for Tilly Bud - old thread.' Olde Crone

Sue

Sue Report 17 Oct 2005 12:05

I'm sure the 'Beaver Blower' thread was nudged because of a thread on the General Board. I'm sure it isn't all malicious Suex

It is no longer the case that the threads and replies of ex members disappear when they leave. Gwynne

A while ago, we had lots of threads being nudged that were anything up to 2yrs old People were spending time and money in credits before they realised the date on the thread

JG70 Report 17 Oct 2005 09:54

Why nudge it and hide the evidence? You'd leave the word Nudge or a comment surely?

Liberty64

Liberty64 Report 17 Oct 2005 09:50

Yes, I noticed Roy's thread had been nudged about 12.30/45am the person that nudged it did not remove their name immediatley, I saw it! May have been inoccent! Lib:))

I noticed Roy's thread reappear early this morning.... And no, it wasn't me...I have better things to do! I agree, Jo, if you nudge it for another member, please say so or we all end up getting paranoid again

Jo Jo

Jo Jo Report 17 Oct 2005 09:33

Surely if you nudge a thread because you think it would be of interest to others you leave your nudge on the thread. JoJo

The Bag

The Bag Report 17 Oct 2005 09:28

I think that still applies to threads they initiate, not replies on other peoples threads. prepared to be corrected, as i no doubt someone will. Jess x
