Surely it would be better to look THOROUGHLY for her marriage cert before you stab about wildly, looking for her birth reg???? Find the marriage, buy the marriage cert and hopefully you will find her age on it. I assume you have her son's 1939 birth cert and that looks as if Christine hadn't been previously married?? If you are only working from her son's birth reg INDEX ENTRY, then that will show her maiden name, but may not be the name she was using when she married Mr Simms...... When you were looking for the marriage, were you searching for Christine or for her hubby? You need to be looking for him rather than her and then cross-checking each time you find a likely marriage, to see if the wife's first name was Christine, if you don't have the son's birth cert. You are really best to find their marriage index entry first because that will at least give you her middle initial (if she had one.) Kate.

Karl, you have enough familyrelative credits to look though all the marriages I posted, and cross reference any Newmans you come across. You should also have enough to look for a birth, when you eventually find out how old she is.

Karl, do us all a favour chap...........if your family know her middle name, someone will have an idea when she died.....its not fair expecting people to be using up lots of 1837 credits etc. for periods not covered by free bmd or ancestry-its very probable that she died in the 60's or 70's-she certainly didnt die after 1983,that is a fact. When you can be more precise as to certain times, then people can help more, otherwise each year search on 1837 costs 40p a go,so we could be spending over £8 checking say deaths 1963 -1983.

I know I have said this a million times already.... You have searched on Family Relatives: this site saves all the info you have viewed so you can look again for free........ Try looking again before asking others to spend money looking at the same pages you have already paid for...... Merry

If you find the marriage and order the cert, you will know which one she is.
