Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 23:04

The GRO index ref should be the same whether it comes from 1837online, Familiy Relatives, FreeBMD, Ancestry or anywhere else.....I say should, as someone did find one that didn't match between sites, but I'm sure this is pretty unusual! As for Frederick and Ada. This is the ref for their marriage: Rodds Frederick Roberts Ada Kings Norton District Volume 6c Page 715 Quarter 1 1910 I can't see a three anywhere!! lol Merry

Merry

Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 22:49

When you say on Ada's marriage is says number three, I'm not sure what you mean?? You said you are going to get the cert, so presume you mean something in the index says three?? Nothing in the index would give any indication of how many times someone had been married.........hope that helps? Ada did marry again in 1920, it's on page one of this thread, where I posted some entries from Family Relatives....to a Mr Jones LOL she had obviously got fed up with people asking her to spell her name!! i've looked at every Edwin in Worcestershire, Warks, N'hants, Staffs, Leicestershire... !!

Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 19:47

Sorry Jess, I just saw your message number 20 at the end of page one......Yes, I agree, but maybe Martha could also be Edwin's mum?? Anyway - none of that explains where they have gone!! (Edwin and Lucy etc) Ellen is on every census! Ggggggrrrrrrr! Merry

Merry

Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 19:19

Frustrating this one, isn't it........? Yes, Ellen and Martha are sisters and prob one of them is Edwin's mother....... If Frederick hadn't been here in 1910 I would have said they had all emigrated.......!! I think Angela is going to need Frederick's marriage cert and maybe Edwin's birth cert, to try and get to the bottom of this. Merry

The Bag

The Bag Report 19 Oct 2005 19:06

I think martha is Ellens sister. Angela did not know Edwin was a Baker, the replies indicate that she knew he married a Lucy but certainly didnt know where- cant imagine she has the cert (maybe wrong)

Merry

Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 19:03

Angela, Have you got Frederick's 1910 marriage cert....... Does it record anything important about Edwin (like alive or dead?) Was his occupation still down as a baker? Merry

Merry

Merry Report 19 Oct 2005 18:59

Martha Rodds becaume Martha Langton in 1871....... Is Martha Edwin's mother?????? Need that 1858 birth cert.... I have looked to see if Edwin was going be the name Langton in later life (straw clutching!) - but can't find him yet! Merry

The Bag

The Bag Report 19 Oct 2005 18:56

Merry follow my logic, can you? Edwin, i think, is the son of Ellen Frederick is the son of Edwin and Lucy, born leic Sydney is son of Fredrick and Ada (M 1910) They are going to be in the midlands in 1891/1901 arent they? ---------------------- martha Rodds married a Langton?

I Had a look on Family Relatives (1866-1920 all GR indexes) All births: Surname Forename Mothers maiden name District Page No Event Quarter Year Rodds Edith Roberts Aston.6d 716 Birth 1 1915 Rodds Frederick Leicester.7a 283 Birth 1 1881 Rodds Sydney Frederick Kings Norton.6c 404 Birth 2 1910 Marriages: Surname Forename Spouse District Page No Event Quarter Year Rodds Ada Jones Birmingham.6d 938 Marriage 3 1920 Rodds Edwin Birmingham.6d 87 Marriage 4 1880 Rodds Frederick Kings Norton.6c 715 Marriage 1 1910 Rodds Harriet A Leach Brentford.3a 407 Marriage 1 1919 Rodds Martha Kingston.2a 313 Marriage 1 1871 Deaths: I only looked for Lucy or Edwin. Results: nil Obviously those two might not be dead by 1920, but that doesn't explain why they seem to have vanished off the planet......... Merry
