Hi Merry My grandma made a tree 30 odd years ago, so I knew I had a Caiger (her grandad), but had them down as Londoners. I moved 240 miles away from Lincs to Bognor (to work at Butlins, knew no-one here), and last Nov got onto this site. Got a Caiger reply within an hour, he sent me more details on the Caigers and... they come from Bognor and surrounding villages! So the moral of the story is you can never escape family by moving! xx Jen

Found a 2nd cousin on genes and we found we were born a day apart in the same maternity hospital. Its possible our Mums could have been in th same ward. I never knew much about my paternal nans siblings as she was a very austere lady who thought children should be seen & not heard. He was born to one of nans younger sisters. Shirley

My Great Grandfather, Sydney Norton was born in 1896 at 88 London Road, Soutwark, London, 101 years later I went to South Bank University Business School which is at 88 London Road Southwark London. I only found out when I started tracing the tree a couple of years ago. I was also born on the same day as another of my great Grandfathers. As for having the same birthdays the odds of it happening are surprisingly small. Out of a random group of 23 people you have an evens chance of having 2 people born on the same day. A report was done on it using Football teams and the referee some years back. The reason for it is that out of 23 people you have 256 different pairings of those people. If you take the 30 random people the odds are better than evens.

My one sent me and my boyfriend into a panic. A few years ago we decided to have a barbecue for our parents to meet. Everything was going hunky dory until his mum and my dad got chatting. His mum said I had an auny Glad who married a chap called Gerry from where you come from, my dad said that's funny I had an uncle Gerry who married a woman called Glad. By now our ears had pricked up. It turns out we are related but only by marriage thank god. It's just as well, as we are getting married next Saturday. My second one is We arranged our wedding before I started to do my family tree. Our wedding is on 29/10/05 the same day that my Ggrandad was born and the day he died.

My married name is Anne Fraser ( I must get round to making something up.) Any way the day I got married twenty-seven years ago today a second cousin of mine married an Anne Fraser so the family gained one and lost one. We hardly knew one another so it was a complete coincidence.

Whilst researching my mothers side of the family I have found that her ancestors have lived no less than 5 times next door to a family by my married name Ball in various parts of the country. I do not know yet whether there is any connection but makes you wonder whether or not you are destined to meet some-one.

I recently discovered that the births of two of my female ancestors were registered on the same day by the same registrar. The families did not know each other as far as we know at that time but many years later one of those babies married the cousin of the other infant. George
