Of........(sorry, nothing exciting!)....using a plastic or rubbery ''guard'' thingy over the PC keyboard?? I know if I didn't sit here eating all the time, things would not be so bad, but I am thoroughly fed up with trying to remove half a pound of Pringles etc from the keyboard!! Hi Merry, Turn your keyboard upside down and give it a good shake!!! I used to use one of those plastic covers at work and I didn't like it much but it might be worth giving it a go! Carol

probably a bit like a matress protector- okay fora while , then it jiffles about and gets uncomfortable... jess x

Merry Speaking as one who is not keen on rubbery things on anything (take that as you will!), I recommend taking your keyboard to the sink (don't forget to unplug it from the computer first, unless you have a cordless one), turning it upside down, and shaking it very, very hard. You will be amazed what will fall out, and the keyboard will come to no harm. It you are really desperate to spring-clean it, you can gently prise off the keys (with a screwdriver blade works well) and clean underneath, but I recommend only doing a few at a time or you will forget where they go when you come to put them back! I wonder Merry how many people have shaken their keyboard since they have read your thread. I,for one, have now I have to go and get the hoover and hoover my desk. Irene

I think that I would have a go at hoovering it - but make sure that the suction isn't on too much!!

LOL everyone! I already do the turn it upsidedown thingy and the prize off a few keys and go round with a big kids paintbrush thingy, but never bother with going to the sink or turning off the 'puter, so usually it crashes or goes off on a trail of it's own whilst I press everything....then I have to sweep the floor after!! I have my doubts about the rubbery thingy, personally, but hubby insists I at least try it LOL!!!!!! So I thought I'd ask all you experts first....... I would have thought I might lose some sensation (lol) and if I got a hole in it, there could be a disaster! Merry

Merry, there is definately a lack of sensation!lol!! It's not like the real thing!! And after a while it gets discoloured and you can't see the keys properly or it gets unstuck and it all moves around!!! Carol x

Doesn't sound as if it's for me then Carol!! I expect hubby is fishing for a romantic Christmas pressie for me, don't you think.......?? He must be following in the footsteps of my dad who, for their first Xmas together, bought my mum a tin of Swarfeger.....Didn't even wrap it!! There's romance for you! Merry

It's gungy stuff for cleaning oil off your hands, usually after doing mechanics or something like that. Dad didn't know where the engine was in the car, so it wasn't a ''present for her'' that was really a ''present for him'' ......mum says it was the only thing available on Xmas eve, as he did his Christmas shopping in the petrol station on the way home from work and they didn't used to be as well stocked as they are today!! (could have bought her a wheel brace so she could change her own wheels, I suppose?!!) Mum shook her Christmas card, thinking there might be a 10 shilling note in it, to make up for the Swarfeger....but NOOO! Since then we always shake our cards....ritual has lasted 40 years lol Merry

Swarfega is the stuff that garage mechanics clean the grease off their hands with!!! And who says that romance is dead?

I once got a set of hub-caps for Christmas from my husband. I was very pleased with them as they were what I wanted. He also bought me a battery charger - I wanted one of those too!!!

LOL Angela! My mum is actually quite a practical person (which is probably why he thought he could get away with the Swarfeger!) - She has had various presents from me that many ladies of a certain age wouldn't want......gave her a power drill for her 80th birthday lol Merry

Merry, Oh that is funny. What a great present. I thought my Dad was bad! Always did his shopping on Xmas Eve too! Always bought my Mum things for the kitchen! Like a food mixer, which would be great if my Mum enjoyed cooking but she didn't!! My brother once bought her a fire extinguisher for Xmas (of course for the kitchen). I'm sure she loved it! Must go and do the school run now, be back later as I'm sure this thread is now going to turn into the c**ppiest Christmas present thread!! Carol

hi monty, i use the hoover attachment with the brush on, very effective and does not damage the keyboard yvette
