Hi Angie, He probably knew his Dad as Fred and gave the name Frederick to the registrar..... unwittingly. I have a handful of certs which give incorrect names, Maybe Edwin's middle name was Frederick ? .... or Edwin was simply known by the name Fred .... I would firstly find the Death cert for the Father and see what name he's actually given on that, and who by ! |

THE BIRTH CERT IS NOT FROM ORIGINAL FILM AND IT SAYS IT A COPY FROM CHRISTCHURCH IM WONDERING IF EDWIN AND LUCY ADOPTED FREDERICK IT ALL SEEMS A BIT SUSS TO ME WHEN I WAS ADOPTED I HAD COPY LIKE THE ONE IM LOOKING AT NOW HUGS ANGIE XX |
