Hi Jim Mmmm indeed I did see that too, I tend to think it's the same family because mum was born in Glasgow, all members ages tie in and Elizabeth/Sarah's son Arthur Mayall did go to Heywood with the family, regarding their dad James I am pretty certain I have traced him back to Ashton Under Lyne, pre marriage, I just can't for the life of me find a birth entry for Harold, my Great Grandfather which is driving me crazy to say the least! I have looked at 1891 and the places of birth are different. That means either different family or you cannot rely on information. |

Hi, I need some help please, I am trying to find the correct birth entry for Harold Shaw born in 1884 in Mossley, Lancashire. In 1901 he is living with his family dad James, mum Sarah and sister Ada in Heywood. I have reference checked three entries for Bury and one for Ashton with no luck for either child, the family were in Heywood in 1891, mum is listed as Elizabeth with a younger brother Frank but I can't find an entry for him either although all children according to census info were born in Mossley where their dad came from. I am sure they have the same mum as she was born in Glasgow and the age ties in. Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks Lisa |
