I've just discovered that Elizabeth Wyatt (c1826) was nee Gardner and she married a Charles Wyatt in 1846 on the 21st of September at Kingsthorpe P.C. I assume this is a parish church?

I've just realised that Charles' father John could have been George and Martha's son! So different Charles but still family.

Karen

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 13:09

So they were the ones you found on 1861? I have Charles down as son of William and Elizabeth.

Karen

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 12:55

We then have the one son Charles Longworth c1873. What happened to him in 1881/91/01? And George Longworth c1831, did he marry, have children, die a lonely old man? Should keep you going for half hour while I do washing up grrrr.....

Karen

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 12:51

I have plenty that lived in that area, then moved to Nottinghamshire, or came from out of town to Northamptonshire etc. I really must do the housework but this is far more fun. Ok let's go for George Wyatt c1857. Already know 1881 - living with Mum, let's see 1891 and 1901 to see who this Fanny was. Same goes for Charles Wyatt c1851. Also where can I find an old map that might show me some of these places?

The Bag

The Bag Report 8 Dec 2005 12:46

DO you still want the Wyatt line following?- i dont mind!! Doing it - I really enjoy, makes me feel i can contribute something constructive (having a very poor self image) Doing someone that actually lived in the town that i live it, somehow brings it to life. I keep thinking ''Oh what a shame , thats been bulldozed'' etc etc and can imagine in my thought where they lived etc anymore, especially local to me, shout!! Jess xx

I've managed to work most of it out now. William and Sarah - who married at All Saints, were John's parents. It's nice to see something of the past is still standing.Thankyou so much for all your help this morning. But don't worry I'll be back with another lot soon. I've just followed the Jabez Longworth line down. He married a Patience Melville, in 1870 and then died in 1877. It would appear they never had children and she was still a widow in 1891. So that's Jabez, Lorenzo, William covered. Now I remember vaguely finding that George Wyatt married a Fanny, but can't for the life of me remember where. Probably 1891 or 1901. I really hope hubby buys me a subscription to Ancestry soon so I don't have to keep bugging you.

can you see any really obvious holes/gaps that want filling? If who ever it was was married at All Saints chuch, it is a beautiful old church , right- plonk- in the middle of town. was in there on Tuesday evening actually!

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 11:01

A very kind person has just looked up 1841 for me. William Longworth c1801 was married to Sarah c1806. They then had Harriett c1826, John c1826, George, c1831, Sarah c1833, Sophia c1836, Jabez c1838 and Lorenzo c1841. William was from out of town, possibly Lancashire. They also found me the reference to William and Sarah's marriage - her surname was Blackby and they married 21/10/1822 at All Saints Northampton. A really productive morning.

Karen

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 09:26

Right made sense of most of it. John must have left Eliza and went to live with his mother and brother, and took young William with him.Sound right? But when William and Elizabeth were visiting Elizabeth's mother they must have taken their first two daughters with them. Yes? Doesn't say daughters of whom. Now i just have to work out why John left, and with him staying with his brother it ties in the Lorenzo connection. If anyone can see any fatal flaws please tell me as this is one part I don't want to mess up.

Karen

Karen Report 8 Dec 2005 09:18

Crikey Jess! All that while I dropped littl'un off at school. I do think that Elizabeth was nee Wyatt as after she married William they lived at the back of 12 Alma Street, with Betsy Wyatt (mother) lived with two of her sons at 12 Alma Street - from 1881 census. So that sorts that line out. Now this Lorenzo thing, the only way i can be sure is birth certs. John Longworth c1826 must have died or left Elizabeth before the 1871? as she was living with two of the daughters with no mention of him after that. (Just thinking out aloud, hoping I'm getting somewhere......) So I'll look for a death ref. Thankyou for this Jess, looked a rampant lot for sure.
