Sorry everyone, there was a power-cut last night and I couldn't get back to you. Thanks for all your help-I'm glad it wasn't just me who couldn't find the marriage.(If there ever was one!). On the copy of the family tree that I inherited it has 2 marriage dates i.e. 1854 and 1855 and I thought I'd try to find out which one was correct. Beginning to wish I'd never started!!!!!!! Merry, where did you find the info about the gravestone? Sue.

It was on http://www.dorset-opc(.)com/ (remove brackets) Click on ''Search This Site'' and then on Monumental Inscriptions Database, I filled in Hann and Folke. There were a couple of 20thC ones too.... Merry

I guess you could always e-mail the Online Parish Clerk or the county records office with the dates you;ve got and see if they can find the marriage. nell

I think Nell found a different Job Hann in 1891, as yours would appear to have died..... Here's his wife, recorded as widow: Hann, Bridgete abt 1837 Newfoundland, Harton Brecon Servant Folke Dorset I was looking because I wondered if he married the second time round, but it turned out there was no second time round :O(( Name: Hann, Job Record Type: Deaths Age at death: 55 Quarter: September Year: 1885 District: Sherborne County: Dorset Somerset Volume: 5a Page: 203 Merry

Nell, unfortunately there is no parish clerk for Folke at the moment.(just my luck!). If only Bridget hadn't been born in Newfoundland it might have been easier to trace her and at least get the correct spelling for her surname. Merry, you're right--Job died in 1885 and Bridget died in 1907. Might have to leave this one and come back to it later-- with a fresh brain! Still no takers for my credits on family relatives. Sue.
