So I give up, have tried all the usual places - except Ancestry which I can't afford - and nothing comes up on this lady. If anyone from South Glamorgan in Wales has any sources I might use, please help, thanks Audrey

Agreed, the quarterly or yearly subscriptions to Ancestry are a bit on the hefty side, but the £4.95 deal for Pay Per View access for 10 census records is a pretty good deal and should be more than enough for the average person to look at and open some doors without breaking the bank. That's not too expensive is it? And you do only pay for what you actually look at (images) - not what you search for. You won't get very far in your research if you're not willing to put up a fiver and have a look for yourself. I know from my own experience it can all add up, but really. And if there ARE any kind souls on here who have a yearly subscription to Ancestry and will do a lookup for you then you'll need to be a lot more specific than you have been so far - like name, age, and town of birth, not just a county.

True, but maybe if we knew Nanna's date of death, and it was after 1984, then we might be able to help with her date of birth?? And even if she died only after 1969, we could advise that her date of birth would be on the death registration........(correct, or otherwise!!) Merry

ok I'm back, sorry for the delay, I'm disabled so had to wait for help to come and get me going for the day. The men on this board do seem a little sharp about the whole thing. I was just trying to contact someone in the Glamorgan area who might help, and yes, on a disability pension I do have to watch all my 'Fivers' ! Here's the details of the lady in question: She was born in Cardiff in 1889, name: Sarah Jane Roberts and she died in 1967. I am trying to get her family background. She married Edward Brooks in Dec.of 1911. He was born in Cardiff in March of 1888 and died in 1950. I do not have his family either. I joined Familyrelatives but nothing comes up, also nothing at LDS, BMD etc.. thanks so much, Audrey in Canada(from Cardiff originally)
