Lorraine, These are the ONLY deaths on the register for William Purvis between 1909 and 1920 in Sunderland. Purvis William John 36 Sunderland.10a 394 Death Mar 1910 Purvis William D Sunderland.10a 663 Death Sep 1915 Purvis William A 6 Sunderland.10a 761 Death Dec 1919 Unfortunately all appear to have the wrong middle initial and one is a child. I have found this information by doing a search on www.familyrelatives.org, which is fully transcribed to 1920. Liz x

The address for Sunderland is: PO Box 108, Sunderland, SR2 7DN. Tel: 0191 553 1768 Enclose a cheque for £7 (which will be returned if the cert is not found), an SAE and as much information as you possibly can. They may be reluctant to search a number of years though so maybe you should phone them first. I was lucky in that I knew the date so the search was very small. Liz

Lorraine, I did not insult you, and did not say you were asking for something for nothing. I merely pointed out that if the death has not been found on the registers, there is no point looking for it again as the registers do not change. I was unable to find the birth of my great-grandmother on the registers, so I wrote to the registry offce where she was born. They located and sent me the certificate. It turned out that her birth had simply not been entered on the register, which is rare but it does happen. Liz

Ask for help, people are more than willing to help BUT was just pointing out that the heplp you are asking for is unrealistic. ...and i was trying to help, it was me that suggested you tried to narrow the search period, THEN people will be more willing to look for you.

Ladylol Pusser Cat Report 17 Jan 2006 11:23

actully idi take the reply as insulting im not asking for something for nothing ,i have access to cencus and i more than happy to do a search for someone who hasnt , forgive me for asking but is it not the done thing to ask on this site for help . i have took and used advice from others on this site and by doing so narrowed my searc considerably

Dizzy Lizzy 205090 Report 17 Jan 2006 11:21

Lorraine, You are asking for a search for a death, not for new ideas. If the register has been searched already and the death not found, there is no point repeating the search as it still will not be there. Liz
