Is it not the one I found in Lewisham (St Olaves area) with the Charles dad who is a policeman? (Records Board thread)

OK just checked his marriage cert and his father was defo CHARLES THOMAS GOODWIN so not the right family!! He was deceased in 1901 so I'll look for a death cert.

OK - so you specified the dad's name for the 1871 cert, but the dad is Henry - the family I found in 1871.......so they didn't send the cert. Got it now!! Merry

He was married on 25th Dec 1901 to May Ann Harrison in Peckham, son Charles Thomas born 31st Dec 1902 Charles Thomas!

I ordered that certificate but they decided it wasn't the one I needed and its a chap born in 1879 that they have sent me!!! Not sure where they got that infor from!! Aaaarrrgggghhhh!!

We could probably still find him, but we need more info to go on. Where have you found him so far? Have you got him on any later censuses? Sometimes it's easier working backwards than forwards. Leah

The birth cert I ordered was the wrong one..... defo born 1871 Jan Q in St Olave.

Found this family on the 1881 - I know they have transcribed middle initial as J - but it could be a T. If you know his mother's name it would help narrow down the search a bit... Charles J. Are you sure that's the right one? I thought in your original message you said his father's name was also Charles? Do you know what his mother's name was?
