Could the nickname Queenie equal the real name Mar

Anyway, don't forget that the queen from 1910 onwards WAS a Mary (wife of George V), and they could have started calling the child Queenie when her namesake became queen! Kate.

Kate.... that was my thinking..... I have these births in the right time frame - The ones with recorded next to them are Grandma's siblings and its only Queenie that I am not sure of as the others are FACT! So shall I order it and put myself out my misery? Just a quickie Diana - you may know but NEVER enter more than one first name in familyrelatives.org search - it will give you zilch results. I spent ages looking for people when I first started and getting zilch results - I mailed them and they said only enter one name - and it worked.

Hi Pink I think youve done a lot of hard work trying to pin her down and if your gut instinct tells you that is Queenie I would go ahead and order it....perhaps you could ask that they do a reference against the fathers or/and the mothers name just in case, that way you save yourself a few quid if it turns out not to be her. Thanks for that tip a I didn't realise you could only put one name in!! Gut instinct does tell me that its her and yeah i think the reference checking is a good idea!! Thanks again for your help everyone!! xx
